FOR RETAIL CHAINS WITH 10 OR MORE LOCATIONS

One homogeneous network behind every store. One partner who makes it happen.

Digital signage in retail is only valuable if it works at every location, every day, without needing any explanation. DooH Group provides hardware, software, and services as a single integrated solution and communicates with every stakeholder in their own language.

In retail organizations with dozens or hundreds of locations, digital signage rarely fails all at once; rather, it breaks down gradually. A screen here, an incorrect price display there, a product launch that doesn’t go live in 40% of the stores. The problems are systemic, not isolated incidents.

A fragmented media landscape

Different vendors, hardware generations, and media players at each location. Every update takes days, and every outage requires a separate ticket workflow. IT and operations bear the brunt of it.

Content isn’t updated in real time

A new bundle, price change, or campaign needs to be available in all stores by 8:00 a.m., not “sometime today.” Without a unified infrastructure, that’s just wishful thinking.

No clear overview of costs and uptime

The CFO wants predictability at the store level. Operations wants first-time fixes. Marketing wants speed. Without a single platform and an SLA, each role gets different data, and no one gets the full picture.

SCALE
10–500+ stores

APPLICATION
Communication & activation

DECISION TIME
6–18 months

PARTIES INVOLVED
Seven key roles

TECHNOLOGY & INTEGRATION

CTO / IT manager

ROLE
Oversees the IT architecture, security, and integrations that support the store network on a daily basis.

AMBITION
A stack that is scalable and secure, without every new store or campaign becoming a separate engineering puzzle.

CHALLENGE
Fragmented vendors, security audits resulting in dozens of separate policies, and integrations that work slightly differently at each location.

OPERATIONAL CONTINUITY

COO / Operations

ROLE
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the store network, from opening hours to service tickets.

AMBITION
Stores that “just work,” without operations starting every morning with a list of weekend malfunctions.

CHALLENGE
Unpredictable outages during peak times, escalations involving multiple suppliers, and KPIs that no one can trace back to a single source.

FINANCIAL PREDICTABILITY

CFO / Finance

ROLE
Ensures financial discipline regarding investments in the retail portfolio and their associated operating costs.

AMBITION
Predictable TCO per store, a transparent cost structure, and investments that deliver demonstrable returns over their lifecycle.

CHALLENGE
Scattered invoices, unexpected service calls, and additional service costs that repeatedly disrupt the multi-year model.

STRATEGY & GROWTH

CEO / Executive Board

ROLE
Sets the strategic direction: customer experience, market position, growth, and shareholder value.

AMBITION
A store network that unlocks strategic opportunities: faster rollout, new revenue models, and a stronger, consistent brand.

CHALLENGE
Too many operational challenges that slow down strategic decisions, and investments that look substantial on paper but fail to deliver ROI in practice.

BRAND & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

CMO / Marketing

ROLE
Leads the brand, campaigns, and customer experience across both physical and digital channels.

AMBITION
Campaigns and local activations that go live quickly, deliver a consistent experience, and measurably contribute to customer acquisition and upselling.

CHALLENGE
Long lead times between concept and rollout, content that isn’t synchronized across all stores, and limited visibility into which screens are actually performing well.

SUPPLIERS & CONTRACTS

Procurement

ROLE
Manages supplier relationships, contracts, and economies of scale for the entire organization.

AMBITION
Strong SLAs, fair pricing, and supplier consolidation, without being locked into a single hardware brand.

CHALLENGE
Conflicting demands between quality and cost, scale and flexibility, integration and portability. Often from multiple internal stakeholders simultaneously.

THE SEVENTH - OFTEN FORGOTTEN

The internal ambassador

ROLE
The advocate who drives the project from within. Often a member of the management team from retail, operations, or marketing who must “sell” it to the organization.

AMBITION
To gain internal buy-in for the project, build support across silos, and have a well-founded answer ready for every critical question, from the CFO to the store manager.

CHALLENGE
Resistance from various quarters, conflicting interests, and the lack of benchmarks or comparable cases to point to. Staying credible is a full-time job.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Retail chains questions answered

IT / CTO

Does integrating your platform require changes to our existing IT infrastructure?

No. DooH Group connects to your existing network via a secure outbound connection, no inbound firewall rules, no VPN tunnels, no changes to your core infrastructure. Our SSRM platform runs on top of your current setup. Most retail IT teams are fully onboarded within two weeks without any architecture changes.

How do you handle security across hundreds of store locations?

Every screen runs within a hardened, segmented environment under our Safe & Secure Remote Management (SSRM) framework. Access is role-based, all traffic is encrypted, and audit logs are available on request. SSRM is available in three tiers (Core, Advanced, and Enterprise) depending on your compliance requirements. We are currently on the ISO 27001 certification path.

Can your CMS integrate with our existing retail systems (ERP, PIM, pricing engine)?

Yes. BroadSign, our standard CMS, offers REST API connectivity. We have built integrations with common retail systems for dynamic pricing, inventory-triggered content, and campaign scheduling. Custom integrations are scoped during the onboarding phase and delivered as part of the managed service.

COO / Operations

What happens when a screen goes down in one of our stores?

Our Self-Healing Platform (SHP) detects and resolves the majority of incidents automatically, before your store team even notices. For hardware faults that require a physical intervention, we log a ticket and dispatch within the timeframes agreed in your SLA. You have one number to call and one dashboard to check, not a queue of different supplier contacts.

Can you manage rollouts across multiple store locations simultaneously?

Yes. Our standard rollout methodology handles parallel deployment across dozens or hundreds of locations. We coordinate logistics, installation scheduling, and go-live verification centrally, so your operations team is not the project manager. A phased pilot (typically 3–5 locations) precedes full rollout to validate specifications and workflows.

What uptime do you guarantee and how is it enforced?

99.9% per screen per year, backed by a formal SLA. This is not a marketing figure, it is the contractual baseline, enforced by SHP monitoring and proactive intervention.

CFO / Finance

What does a multi-location digital signage network actually cost?

Pricing depends on screen count, location type, and service tier. We structure all proposals around Total Cost of Ownership: hardware, installation, CMS licensing, monitoring, and maintenance in a single monthly or annual figure per screen. This makes budgeting predictable and eliminates the hidden service-call costs that fragment most retail signage contracts. Contact us for a location-specific model.

Can we lease or finance the hardware rather than buy it outright?

Yes. We offer Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) structures that spread hardware costs over the contract term. This converts a capital expenditure into a predictable operational cost and includes replacement coverage, so there are no surprise line items when panels reach end of life.

How do we report on ESG impact from our screen estate?

Our portal logs energy consumption per screen and per location. This data is exportable for ESG reporting. Our LED selection process prioritises the lowest available energy consumption per lux, and we offer e-paper screens for low-footfall or regulation-sensitive locations where further reduction is required.

CMO / Marketing

How quickly can we push a new campaign or price change to all stores?

Immediately, once approved in BroadSign. Content updates publish across your entire estate simultaneously, or by region, store format, or time slot if you need segmentation. There is no manual process per location. A campaign approved at 17:00 is live in every store at 08:00 the next morning.

Can different stores show different content?

Yes. BroadSign supports full content segmentation by location, store format, daypart, or any other variable you define. A flagship store can run brand content while a transport hub shows a different promotional mix, all managed from one interface by your marketing team.

Do you support programmatic DOOH connections for third-party advertising revenue?

Yes. For retail operators who want to monetise their screen estate, we can connect your network to programmatic platforms including Broadsign Reach. This enables third-party advertisers to buy inventory on your screens, creating a new revenue stream alongside your own brand communications.

Procurement

Are we locked into specific hardware brands?

No. We are a Samsung Platinum Partner and recommend Samsung as our primary hardware range because of its reliability, energy efficiency, and support infrastructure. However, our homogeneous network standard is software- and service-led, if your organisation has existing hardware frameworks or preferred suppliers, we can assess compatibility during scoping.

What does a typical SLA look like?

Our standard SLA covers 99.9% uptime, defined response times by incident severity, first-time-fix targets, and scheduled maintenance windows. Enterprise-tier clients receive dedicated account management and quarterly performance reviews. Full SLA terms are provided during the proposal phase.

How long are typical contracts?

Most managed service agreements run for 3 to 5 years, aligned to the expected hardware lifecycle. Shorter pilot contracts (12 months) are available for new clients who want to validate the platform before committing to a full rollout.

Internal ambassador

How do we build internal support for this investment across different departments?

We start there. Our intake process maps all seven stakeholder roles in your organisation and identifies the specific proof points each one needs. We provide a structured internal briefing (covering IT requirements, operational impact, financial model, and marketing capability) that you can use directly in internal presentations. You do not have to translate our sales pitch; we give you the material to make the case yourself.

Do you have reference cases we can share internally?

Yes. We manage screen networks for VodafoneZiggo, Hoog Catharijne, Lebkov & Sons, La Place, Foodvillage, and Schiphol Airport, among others. Reference calls with peers in comparable retail organisations can be arranged on request.
